For many homeowners, pets are part of their household and family. Unfortunately, these pets can make quite a mess on flooring; sometimes, dogs and cats can even do some damage to your beautiful floors. If you aren’t replacing your floors anytime soon, the next best thing you can do is purchase quality cleaning products to make your tile floors in your kitchen and bathroom look like you don’t even own a pet!
If you have stone, porcelain, or ceramic tile in your home, you’re probably in good shape. These types of tile don’t scratch easily. And, pet urine doesn’t affect or harm these types of tiles like it would say to a hardwood floor; however, your grout lines might be in rough shape.
There’s a good chance your dog or cat has accidentally relieved themselves on the floor before or dragged in dirt, mud, grass, or anything else from the outside onto your tiles and grout. Unfortunately, grout is porous and any liquid or solid they get on your grout will be absorbed and seep deep below the surface. Because of this, the grout can darken or change color completely. Normal soap and water won’t be able to truly get rid of what your pet left behind. Not only is this unsightly, it can become unsanitary for you and your loved ones to walk on.
If you believe your grout lines are compromised from any spills or accidents from your pets, you’re not alone, and there is a solution. By using proper grout cleaning and grout sealing products, you can transform your grout back to its original color. Grout Shield Grout and Tile Cleaner will remove all dirt and stains from the grout. Just use a mop to distribute the cleaner and allow the formula to saturate into the grout for 10 to 15 minutes. Then, scrub the area with a grout or bristle brush, followed by using a clean rag to wipe away any remaining cleaner.
Since you can’t prevent all accidents from happening with your pets, it’s best you seal your grout after you clean it as well, so it is harder for the grout to become dirty. Grout Shield’s Clear or Color Sealer protects the grout. The color seal allows you to change the color of the grout to any color you want.
If you are looking for an easy way to restore your grout from your pet’s messes without spending a ton of money, purchase Grout Shield grout cleaners and sealers. To learn more about or to purchase Grout Shield’s products, click here or call 1-800-631-0716.
